What better way to welcome back everyone was Spring break than by having a ribbon cutting ceremony for our new all inclusive playground that everyone helped raise money for with the penny war! After the ribbon was cut, we got to play on the new playground for a few minutes!

This week in our reading we are discusing getting help and helping others. We read The Little Engine that could and discovered how good it makes everyone feel when we help each other. We also discussed that we have to keep working at something if we want to get better at it. We each wrote on a train labeled "I think I can..."

Easter week fun!

Our short week before Easter consisted of sight word Easter egg hunt where they had to read their sight words and come up with sentences that was found in the egg. We read There was an old Lady who swallowed a chick and wrote about our favorite part and put the story in sequence. We also read the Easter Bunny is missing and made a chart of why certain animals from the story ouldnt take the Easter bunny's place. It just so happened that the Easter Bunny was just on vacation which is why they couldn't find him!

Since our school playground is still under construction and it was a nice day out we decided to take a walk to the playground by the public library before we listened to a story inside! We ended the day with an Easter egg hunt and a jelly bean experiment! We discovered that after 5 minutes in a cup of water, jelly beans start losing small pieces off the bean, after 1o minutes the water gets cloudy, and 15 minutes the water changes color!

E-field trip and 3d shapes

We went on an e-field trip where we got to experience what a volcano in Guatemala is like! It was a different experience for us!

We explored with 3d shapes to figure out which ones roll, slide, and stack.
