Santa came!!

We were just DYING to know what our big surprise was! We went to library like we usually do on Wednesdays, but this time, we sang some Christmas songs and SANTA came!!! We all got a chance to sit on his lap and tell him what we wanted for Christmas! He said we were all really good boys and girls! Mrs. Claus even came with and she told us all the good things she saw us doing not only at school, but at HOME TOO!

We got to sing Christmas carols with Santa and Mrs. Claus like Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Then Santa wanted to hear us sing some of the songs we are singing for our Christmas concert on Friday!

Mrs. Graumann, Mrs. Pagelow, and Mrs. Wagner all got to sit on Santa's lap too!!

At the end Santa gave us a basket full of candy canes!!

Gingerbread Friend Exchange Part 1

I am part of a collaboration group with other kindergarten teachers around the United States. We decided to do a Gingerbread Exchange with any school that would like to join, by having each student in the class decorate a gingerbread man, write a letter as a class about the school, and anything fun or interesting about our state, and then send one to each of the schools on our list. There were 6 lists with 24 schools on each list!

Mrs. Kossman had a fun alphabet Wisconsin book where we learned some more fun facts about Wisconsin!

Our 5th grade buddies helped us decorate!

Here's our finished projects! Some of us decorated with snowmen, some of us put Wisconsin Badgers, Brewers, and Packers on there.

We are all smiles and excited to say Bon Voyage to our Gingerbread Friends!

We got to walk to the post office to send them in the mail ourselves! SO Fun!

It was pretty silly because we walked to the post office in our JAMMIES since it was Pajama day!

WE CANNOT WAIT TO GET OUR GINGERBREAD FRIENDS IN THE MAIL FROM OUR KINDERGARTEN FRIENDS FROM OTHER STATES! Check back for pictures of our gingerbread friends! We also will display them out on the bulletin board outside our classroom door!

Veterans Day/odds and ends

Honoring our veterans with a banner and the high school band.

Some of our many heroes. They each came to our classrooms sowe could shake their hands and thank them. Some of us even made them cards!

Speech given by Debbie Hammann.

Poem by middle school students.

We areally a bunch of turkeys showing off our turkey hats we made in Art!

Our letter and alphafriend this week was P for Pippa Pig. We are looking through our student book for more words that begin with p. We each take turns drawing a picture on our anchor chart!

Composing and decomposing numbers in math! we love to learn!

David and Oliver are building words with picture cards!

Learning about simple machines. we made a lever and tried to lift different things up with it. Simple machines help us do our work easier!

We also made ramps or inclined planes and explored with cars going down it. Do things with wheels go faster the steeper we make the ramp?

Our new character trait we are focusing on for the month of November is Honor.

We got to draw a picture for someone to show we appreciate and love them.

In our Reading storied we learned that people and animals move in different ways. we got to pretend to be those animals and move like them!

It has been a while since we learned Spanish with our Amigos so we had to reacquaint ourselves with them!

It is always fun when our moms surprise us for lunch! Oliver loved having his mom join him for lunch and recess!

It was the big presidential election . We learned that we have to be at least 18 years old to vote, but we had our own mock election at school run by the 4th graders! We were so excited and proud that we got to "vote" and we even got our own I voted sticker!
