Read Across America Week

Read Across America week was filled with LOTS of fun activities! Each day there were questions about different Dr. Seuss books that we had to answer, and whoever's name was picked, and got the right answer, won a free book from Scholastic! We had 2 winners in our class, Liam Schwaller and Annika Graff! Everyone did a fabulous job listening to the stories and answering questions.

We also had different "dress" up days for each day. Crazy socks, hat day, shirt saying a place you've been, bright color clothes, and PJ day!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with cupcakes and finished the week by watching Finding Dory!

We love reading with our classmates!

Hat day!!

We got to go in the library and read with the older kids for a while! Grace found her sister!

Liam found his brother!

Katherine found her brother and his friend!

Morgan earned her lunch with Mrs. Wagner on hat day! We had a nice little picnic with music in the classroom!

We had guest readers throughout the week! Family members came up with 3 clues for us to figure out who they were! It was so much fun guessing! Annika was excited to have her mom come read!

We also had Annika's Grandpa read a story!

Did you know that when you read Wacky Wednesday, "wacky" things start happening in the classroom?? Oliver found that out when he got back to his seat after Phy Ed and saw that his chair was gone and he had to sit on the recycling bin!
Jocelyn was shocked to see her shoe hanging from the ceiling!

Liam found it silly that his lunch bag was on the promethean board!

Oh my, and Katherine's jacket was "flying"

On Wednesday, our story was Oh the Places You'll Go, and we were fortunate to have a foreign exchange student from Finland(who attends school at the high school in Elkhart) come share a little bit about what life is like in Finland. She even brought us a taste of one of their favorite foods!

Annika's Grandma came in and read one of her favorite stories she had when she was growing up! None of us had ever heard of the story and were pretty intrigued!

Liam's dad came and read a story to us! We thought it was funny because David's name was in the story!

Thank you to everyone who was able to make Read Across America week extra special by coming in to the read to the students! They sure loved it! We also had Jocelyn's dad, Katherine's mom, and Grace's mom come read to us!
